IWC on the Big Screen
IWC Schaffhausen takes center stage in F1: The Movie, starring Brad Pitt and Lewis Hamilton. Not only do IWC timepieces appear throughout the film, but CEO Chris Grainger-Herr himself makes a cameo — a rare nod to the maison’s close ties with motorsport.
Watches with a role of their own

Brad Pitt’s character wears a customised vintage Ingenieur 1832 with a unique sage-green dial — a design so striking it inspired a contemporary limited edition.

Rising star Damson Idris sports the Pilot’s Watch Performance Chronograph 41 in gold and black, echoing the fictional APXGP team’s livery. Nearly 100 IWC watches were supplied to the production, underscoring the brand’s authentic presence.
Engineering meets cinema

Directed by Joseph Kosinski (Top Gun: Maverick) and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer with input from Lewis Hamilton, the film is celebrated for using real cars, real circuits, and innovative camera technology rather than CGI. IWC’s involvement, true to its engineering spirit, goes far beyond product placement — it is a genuine collaboration that merges watchmaking, performance, and cinematic innovation.
