Gübelin’s 170th anniversary

The watch is called Ipsomatic as a tribute to the history of the company. The name ‘Ipsomatic’ refers to a legendary model of the same name from the 1950s and 1960s by Gübelin with a Felsa movement. Derived from Latin, ‘Ipsomatic’ refers to the mechanical movement, with ‘ipso’ referring to the self-winding movement.

The design is entirely new and modern. The architect Santiago Calatrava has applied his unmistakable design signature to a wristwatch for the first time. The result is a veritable icon of its time.
